Also we need from all team captains to send their teams vote for MVP, Off-MVP and Def-MVP for this year. You cannot vote for players on their own team. The votes need to be receieved by Wednesday November 7, 2012 or they will not count ( and Derrick will be MVP first time ever in KTFL history! So in other words vote!)
The wind up will start at 5:30 pm at Boston Pizza ( Dilworth)
This year the wind up will be different than previous years when the league assumed all the costs. In the spring meeting at Brandts Creek Pub there was discussion regarding that the league would only cover a portion of the expenses so that the league could actually have money to promote the KTFL and get it back to what it once was. So the league will cover 2 large pizzas for each team all alcohol must be covered by the team due to liablilty if something where to happen due to booze being supplied by the league. No other sports league pays for the wind up as our league once did and were hoping to change things for the better. I know some have said that they are upset that this didn't go for a vote to all team captains but at the end of the day I hope all players that play in the KTFL are about promoting the KTFL and not geting a free slice of pizza and a Beer. If going forward there is that much of a problem then it can go for a vote to all team captains. I hope that is not the case.
In wanting to promote the league going forward the idea is two fold:
1) The league would like to cover some of the costs for the winner of the KTFL to represent us at the provincial or national level to not only promote our tournament (May Bowl) but also the caliber of players we have playing here. The winner would be able to pick from any team in our league ( if the player agreed) and have a KTFL allstar team or choose to go with there team. It would be completely up to that team and what direction they wanted to go.
2) Increase prize money for May Bowl to get more teams and thus allowing the league to make more money.
I know no vote was taken but it was discussed at the Spring Meeting and we feel this is in the best interest of the league which we hope is the goal of all teams.
Also at the wind up could each team have one Bill so that we can show what our league purchased which works toward our sponsorship with BP.
If there are any questions or if something was missed please do not hesitate to ask.
